Michael Schumacher Latest News: Still in Serious Condition as Son Wins F1 Race for Father

The condition of the legendary F1 racing champ, Michael Schumacher, is currently still unclear. Meanwhile, son Mick Schumacher wins his first victory last weekend in a Formula Four race.
The 16-year-old competed for the Van Amersfoort Racing team. He lined up in second position for the last of the three-part race at Oschersleben, Germany. Schumacher Jr. placed fifth in the overall championship, according to Reuters.
He made his impressive debut last Saturday where he started at 19th and finished 9th. The teenager was awarded a trophy for being the highest-placed rookie.
"All in all I am pretty satisfied about how the race went," Schumacher said. "We had three safety car phases and [I had] pretty good restarts, so all in all I am quite happy about the race."
According to Daily Mail, it was the teenager's first time to compete under his real name. He used his mother Corinna's maiden name to avoid media attention.
"It's quite tough for Mick to be treading in his father's footsteps," said Gerhard Berger, former Formula One driver and rival of the Schumacher senior.
"I know him a bit and he's a good lad, with both feet on the ground and the racing bug within him. He grew up in this environment and it is his life. He's not in any danger of being imbalanced by it," he added.
Meanwhile, details about the health status updates of the seven-time Formula One world champion are kept to a mum. The champion's wife, Corinna, requested for privacy regarding her husband's progress.
According to Christian Today, an Italian publication reported that Sabine Kehm, Schumacher's manager, is the reason behind the lack of details behind the F1 racing champ's condition.
Kehm reportedly oversees news reports about Schumacher and then dishes out lawsuits should any news source leak out any information regarding the champ.
Schumacher sustained severe head injuries after a skiing accident on December 29, 2013. The Formula One racer immediately had a brain surgery in France and spent nine months in the hospital, according to CNN. He was then moved to his Swiss home near Lake Geneva for recuperation. Schumacher was skiing with then 14-year old son, Mick when the accident happened.
