The ingredients you'll need are:
- 1 1/2 blanched almonds
- 3 cups water
- 2 tablespoons agave nectar or brown rice syrup
You'll also be using tools such as:
- Cheesecloth
- Blender
- Fine mesh sieve
To make the almond milk you'll need to:
1.) Boil the three cups of water and pour over bowl with the almonds. Let it sit for 20 to 30 minutes.
2.) Blend mixture in blender until smooth.
3.) Using two dampened large pieces of cheesecloth lay them together in a crisscross position over the fine mesh sieve. Place these things over a clean bowl.
4.) Pour the almond mixture over the cheesecloth in three steps. Extract liquid from mixture by gathering all sides of the cheesecloth and squeezing it. Repeat until all blended almond mixture is used.
5.) Add agave or syrup into almond milk. Make sure to place in airtight container and refrigerate. Best to use in two to three days or the milk will turn sour.
