Taylor Swift Fan Loses Half a Ton of Weight While Listening to TSwift Songs

A male fan of Taylor Swift and her songs, who was struggling with his weight, managed to shed almost a half ton of pounds by listening to the pop singer's music.
Ronnie Brower was struggling with his weight at 675 pounds two years ago. His doctor advised him to lose some weight or it would take a great toll on his health. And thanks to determination, workouts, a gym coach and Taylor Swift's music, Brower is now at an astounding 250 pounds, Yahoo News has learned.
Brower's quest to lose a lot of weight started when he made a bet with his friend, Joe Bufano, that if he lost 400 pounds, the latter would take him to a Taylor Swift concert.
Motivated to keep his end of the bet, Brower did everything he could to lose weight while listening to Swift's music. Today, he has reached his goal, and he is now set to see Taylor Swift live on June 3 in Cleveland.
"He told me in his darkest days ... he would often listen to Taylor, and it was the messages in her music that kind of gave him some source of joy and happiness. It kept him buying into life," Bufano said of his friend's weight loss story to the Daily Dot.
According to a viral video clip uploaded on Reddit by Bufano, he is hoping that the "Bad Blood" hit maker would notice Brower's efforts.
"Thank You Taylor for being an inspiration for Ronnie! Your music helped him more than you can imagine! Please contact me if you can help me make your concert on June 3, 2015 special for him," Bufano wrote on the ending credits of the video.
Bufano met Brower in 2000, when the latter was still a high school student in Syracuse, New York.
In 2005, Bufano left his teaching post to pursue a law degree, but he kept in touch with Brower online.
"You could see from Facebook that he'd become entrenched in this lifestyle of partying and drugs," he shared.
In 2013, Bufano saw a Facebook post by Brower, saying that he would die in 10 years if he didn't lose any weight. The former teacher immediately enlisted his personal trainers at Mission Fitness, Nick Murphy and Jill Rupert, to help Brower.
As Brower went ahead to pursue his goal of a healthier lifestyle, Bufano reached out to his former student to show his support. Brower also created a Facebook page called "600 lbs to Success" to document his weight loss journey.
"I started sharing [Brower's] page with people to help bolster his confidence and bolster his support network," said Bufano. "And it developed into a friendship."
Brower is at 250 lbs and plans to have his excess skin removed. He hopes to become a personal trainer someday.
