Bruce Jenner will appear in Vanity Fair magazine's cover as a woman to be shot by celebrity photographer Annie Leibovitz. The magazine with Jenner's photo will be released this summer in tandem with Jenner's transition docuseries for E!, according to Pop Sugar and TMZ.
The former Olympian who came out as a transgender in his interview with Diane Sawyer is currently still continuing his transition as a woman. According to the UK Mirror, Jenner is recovering from gender reassignment surgery and has been seen along with stepdaughters Kim and Khloe with his hair dyed blonde.
According to Radar Online, Jenner had the sex change surgery less than a month ago.
"The procedure involved reshaping Bruce's male genitalia into that of a woman," an uncited source told the magazine. "He was very happy with the results, but didn't realize how grueling the recovery would be."
After the surgery, Jenner was concerned about developing infection.
"Bruce some stress, as there were concerns he had developed a urinary tract infection; however, it was only pain from the procedure," the source added.
Since his surgery, he has been staying at his Malibu mansion and was taken care of by a staff of nurses with 12-hour shifts for his recovery.
"The recovery hasn't been easy for Bruce," the insider said, "because it was much more intensive than he anticipated.
Aside from gender reassignment surgery, Radar also reported that Jenner also had cosmetic procedure to change his jaw line and chin for a "softer look."
"Bruce had put the time aside and wanted to get as much done as possible," the source explained why Jenner was having so much surgery done in a short period of time. "His physical transformation into becoming a woman is now almost complete."
"Bruce wants to be living his life as a woman physically and emotionally by the time the docuseries finishes airing this summer," the insider explained.
According to New York Daily News, In order for his transition to be taken seriously, Jenner employed the help of Kim Kardashian and ex-wife Kris Jenner to create a PR plan, according to the New York Daily News.
This was in lieu with what happened to In Touch magazine's cover that showed Jenner's face photoshopped on Stephanie Beacham's body.
A source told the news site that he might opt for the Angelina Jolie PR way and stage a photograph of Jenner running errands in his full transition form as "her."
"He will set it up ahead of time and either come out on a normal day - and from then on he'll be a woman in his daily life for the public - or he'll go to a dinner and be in a dress. But it's likely he'll ease us into the nighttime look," the source explains.
Jenner is excited to display his full female side and that he is happy. "He's not angry at all anymore," a second source says."He can be who he is now."
