The Air Jordan brand has decided to celebrate Independence Day this year by bringing back one of its best-selling sneakers to the shelves.
According to Sneaker News, the Jordan brand is set to release a low version of the Air Jordan 6. The new Jordan sneaker is modeled from the Air Jordan 6 Retro and its chopped down version from 2002.
It will be released on July 4, 2015 with the style code: 304401 - 123. The expected store price for the sneaker is $175. The official colors of the shoes are white, Infrared 23, and black, reports Sneaker News.
The new version of the Air Jordan 6 Low will be sold in select Nike retailers, states Boom Box. For those who are really eager to buy the shoes and want to beat store traffic, Sneakers News states that the shoes are already available on E-Bay with prices ranging from $160 to $300.
Kicks on Fire describes the sneakers as dressed with a white leather upper with a predominantly icy blue sole. There are contrasting black accents all over the shoe, which can bee seen on its tongue and midsole, reports Sole Collector.
Keeping with the Independence Day theme, there are also blue and Infrared 23 accents on the shoe. To finish off the look of the shoe, there are white laces with a device, usually seen on jackets, at the tip of the sneakers.
There are several jumpman logos placed in various places on the shoe. A jumpman logo can be seen at the bottom of the shoe in the center of a white star-like figure.
Two other jumpman logos can be seen at the top of the shoe. One is set right in the middle of the tongue amid a black background, while the other is set right at the tip of the shoelaces. Meanwhile, the last jumpman logo can be found at the heel of the shoe and is white in color.
The original Air Jordan 6 was made popular by Jordan's basketball inspiration himself, Michael Jordan. The legendary basketball player had worn the first versions of the AJ 6 to the first NBA championship he won.
Kicks on Fire states that many of the Jordan designs back then were set to look like the Air Jordan 5. The AJ 6 however, came out with a new look featuring a unique shape, which looked like the number 23. The AJ 6 remains one of the most beloved shoes for Air Jordan fans to this day and is featured in multiple colorways.
