In the video, which ran for roughly three minutes, we see Frank Dillane waking up with blood shot eyes and in confusion, groggily looks for his companion named Gloria.
The setting looks like an abandoned old church, with the camera zooming on graffiti writings on the wall and mattresses everywhere, when suddenly, screams can be heard in the background. To add confusion and terror to the atmosphere, a man obviously slaughtered by a walker and is bound to be one in minutes is seen as he turns the corner. Then, Frank finally spots Gloria bending over a body and that's when he realizes something is wrong.

Oregon Live writes that "Fear the Walking Dead" is not a spinoff but has been dubbed as a prequel and companion series to "The Walking Dead." As it starts, several problems are already building up for the lead character Madison Clark, played by Kim Dickens. It is clear to say that the impending zombie apocalypse is nothing to the family drama, relationship complications and inner conflicts that the character will be facing all-throughout the series.
Showrunner David Erickson said viewers shouldn't expect too much gore or carnage right away as they have purposely written the story to unfold slowly. This will let the paranoia, anxiety and tension to build up, making the story more thrilling and suspenseful.
Furthermore, Entertainment Weekly answers a few of the tough FTWD questions everyone has been dying to ask when the magazine has interviewed Ruben Blades, one of the actors involved in the series. He plays Daniel Salazar, a barber immigrant from Central America who has been previously exposed from political mayhem and destruction. The actor shared that the series will pose how human kind will survive the collapse of civilization, something that can be possible in any country in the future.
Fear the Walking Dead will premiere on Aug. 23 at 9 p.m. and will run for 90 minutes for its special debut.
