Assassin's Creed theme park in the works: Ubisoft
- comments
Ubisoft has announced that it will bring to life several of its famous games like "Assasin's Creed" and "Just Dance" through the creation of an interactive, next-generation theme park.
ComicBook reports that Ubisoft Motion Pictures will collaborate with RSG in building the theme park in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Jean de Rivieres, senior vice president at Ubisoft, states that the place will make every guest a player, every ride a playground and every visit a game.
He believes that RSG is the right partner in making this vision a reality because the company has a successful record in working with big brands, has the same ambition in creating places for future family destinations and has an intensive experience in developing theme parks.
RSG Chairman Ramelle Ramli states that their company is dedicated in redefining what family fun is, and since video games have taken a central role in entertainment, the theme park will definitely be an exciting project for them. Furthermore, RSG believes that their partnership with Ubisoft will take their creativity to the next level and will rake in benefits for both companies as they continue to firmly consolidate their presence in the global family entertainment.
Tech Times writes that Ubisoft found Malaysia to be the perfect place for its Assasin's Creed-inspired theme park because it is the second most-visited country in the continent of Asia, and has been in the theme park business for the past five years, with Legoland Malaysia being its top franchise.
There are no other details provided as to how the two companies plan to build the theme park; but somehow, rumors have spread that it will be a 10,000 square-meter closed complex that will entirely house all the rides and games indoors. Cutting-edge technology might be used since Ubisoft shares it will be a next-generation theme park. What more, both companies are determined to produce a reactive world where guests will be given a chance to become heroes in their own life-sized games.
Fortune shares that Ubisoft has always been interested in the idea of looking for more platforms to make their brand name known to everyone. The company has publicly received virtual reality and even has its own film studio; but building a theme park can be the biggest break it has been waiting for. With the inclusion of RSG in the project, creator of Movie Animation Park Studios that features attractions like The Smurfs and DreamWorks, the company is a step nearer its dreams.
While this isn't Ubisoft's first theme park, with the completion of France's Futuroscope in 2014, where a 3D dark ride based on Raving Rabbids has been featured, it will be the first ever theme park created to revolve entirely in a video game.
The proposed Ubisoft theme park world will be unveiled in 2020.
