It has been two months since the late Whitney Houston's only daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, passed away at the age of 22. People reported in July that according to her family, "She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months." Brown had been in a coma after she was found unresponsive in a bathtub in her home in Roswell, Georgia in January. Her condition eerily matched her late mother's, who was also found drowned in a bathtub in February 2012.
According to the The Hollywood Reporter, Brown's father Bobby Brown opened up about his daughter's death in FOX's The Real, where he said, "If I could have been there two days before, it wouldn't have went down like that."
Bobby Brown added, "We prayed and hoped for six months, you know, for something better to happen. But when God calls you, he calls you."
He was convinced that Houston was calling on her daughter to rest. He said, "I'm pretty sure her mother had a part with like, 'Come on, let's get her up here. (Houston) was not comfortable by herself, I guess. She just called my daughter with her."
According to Inquisitr, Houston's goddaughter, reality TV star Brandi Burnside, also opened up during her appearance in the same show, where she admitted to having visited Brown during her stay at the Peachtree Christian Hospice center in Duluth, Georgia.
Burnside said, "She loved my son and when we were like, ‘Krissy, we brought the baby.’ She moved. I said, ‘can you hear me?’ Let them know, show them. She couldn’t close her all the way, but she moved it to the right. That was enough for me to know this was somebody’s fight. This was somebody here."
Nick Gordon, an orphan who Houston raised, and later on became Brown's boyfriend, is currently facing charges for assault and theft. He is also accused of causing Brown's death, and is still a primary suspect in the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office (DA). He is represented by Jose Baez, a Florida-based lawyer.
The Wrap reported in July that according to the Houston family's long time friend, Kevin Frazier, "I believe with the whole Nick situation, you will see legal action move swiftly and it will be serious."
Daily Mail also reported that Gordon denied allegations that he physically abused Brown, and poisoned her before drowning her in a tub. He also claims to have unsuccessfully performed CPR on her after she was found unresponsive in her home. Gordon's attorneys claim that the lawsuits filed against their client are "slanderous and meritless".
