There seems to be no stopping the Fast & Furious train, as star and producer Vin Diesel has let slip a tiny detail on what to expect from the massive film franchise, Entertainment Weekly reports. Though it may have been merely a choice of words, fans are now questioning for how long more will the Furious franchise be making films.

Vin Diesel recently wrote on his official Facebook page, "Universal has been so good to me and so trusting of the vision... they have been like family. I promised the studio I would deliver one last Trilogy to end the saga."

That's trilogy with a capital T, so does it mean that there will be another three Fast & Furious films on the way? With the franchise's massive earnings of $1.5 billion with the release of Furious 7 this year, why not?

In July, Screenrant announced that Neal H. Moritz is returning to produce the film. He admitted that the production will be met with the same challenges as Furious 7 brought them, following Paul Walker's tragic death in the middle of the whole production.

"We’re trying to do what we always do, which is try to come at it from a character point of view and figure out where the characters would go from here," Moritz said. "We’re lucky that we have a lot of great characters. Unfortunately, we don’t have Paul anymore. His character… has moved on. But we feel like there’s a lot still to be mined. That’s where we’re starting. We’re really talking about the characters, where they all sit right now. It’s a huge challenge."

Rumors have also circulated that the delay of working on succeeding Furious films are attributed to Diesel, who was said to have been difficult to work with following his friend, Walker's death. Moritz was quick to defend Diesel, however, as according to The Hollywood Reporter, Moritz said, "Obviously, if there was any issue, we wouldn't be making the eighth [film] with [Diesel] right now."

As of now, however, Variety reports that while the franchise hasn't found its director for the 8th installment yet, Diesel and his team are working hard on finding the right person to helm.

Diesel wrote on his Facebook page, "My producing partner Neal would love for me to just sign off on a director, but this is too special a franchise, so these matters have to be very carefully handled. To be clear, NO ONE has been offered to helm Fast 8 yet...let alone seen a script."

Diesel did not forget to thank the fans of the franchise, as he wrote, "The fans of the Fast & Furious SAGA are the best fans in the world... Since I became the Producer in 2008, you have been with me every step of the way... literally giving me feedback that proved invaluable. Thank you."

He closed with a promise of announcing the "directors" on his next post. Furious 8 is set to hit theaters on April 17, 2017.
