'Mortal Kombat X' PS3 Xbox 360 release date & update: new and additional characters will arrive in 2016

According to some reports, Tremor is not the last character for "Mortal Kombat X DLC." There will be additional characters that will arrive in 2016.

Cross Map reports that there may be more than 1 DLCs for "Mortal Kombat X." Tremor is reportedly the "last" character to be added to "Mortal Kombat X DLC." However, it may be true and wrong at the same time. Tremor is the last character in the first DLC pack but there may be "Kombat Pack 2" which means that Tremor is not the last character addition. A recent live stream by NetherRealm showcased Tremor's moves and Fatalities and the collection was referred to as "Kombat Pack One," Design & Trend reports. The first pack includes Jason Voorhees, Tanya, Predator and Tremor and costume packs.

"Mortal Kombat X" director Ed Boon himself confirmed the rumors that there will be a Kombat Pack 2 DLC. He posted an image with 4 silhouettes captioned "Who's Next" via his Twitter account.

According to Christian Today (CT), Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment posted an official announcement on their website about the release of a new DLC for the gaming franchise this month. It states:

"Today Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment confirmed that NetherRealm Studios is developing new downloadable content (DLC) for 'Mortal Kombat X,' the best-selling game of 2015 to date according to US NPD. The new content will include four new playable characters, skins and a new environment, all of which will be available in the first half of 2016."

The article by CT inferred that the rumored characters in the DLC could be Rain, Fujin, Sindel, Sektor, Cyrax or Bo' Rai Cho.

According to the report by Venture Capital Post, creator NetherRealm Studios are known for giving out big surprises. This was noted when Zatanna and Martian Manhunter were revealed to be playable characters in the DLC of DC Comics' "Injustice: Gods Among Us." Furthermore, the report added that comic book Spawn will be joining the list of "Mortal Kombat X" characters. Todd McFarlane approved of the idea of his famous comic icon to be joining the fighters.

"Mortal Kombat X's" Tremor, the newest DLC character is currently available for Kombat Pack Owners. "Mortal Kombat X" is currently now available for PS4, Xbox One and PC. However, the last gen versions for the consoles are currently being produced. As for the next DLC characters, players will have to wait for Warner Bros. to announce the official list.
