'Captain America: Civil War' trailer, news & spoilers: Chris Evans reveals why the Avengers will split up

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" successfully set up several of Marvel's next films, seeing that the trilogy is left with one more film in the coming years. But what makes it more interesting is the fact that we get to see glimpses of what's to come in the next installment of Captain America.
Recently, Chris Evans and the cast of the Captain America attended the Salt Lake Comic Con, where he shared his insights on how his character and Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man (among other Avengers) will be divided in the upcoming Civil War.
MTV reports that Civil War's plot will largely revolve around the government's plan to have all superheroes register and sign an accord, holding them responsible for all of their actions and any consequences it entails. According to Evans, Tony Stark will be for this movement by the government, while Steve Rogers, who works for the government, will surprisingly be against it.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports that according to Evans, "Tony actually thinks we should be signing these accords and reporting to somebody and Cap, who’s always been a company man and has always been a soldier, actually doesn’t trust anymore."
He explained, "Given what happened in ’Cap 2,’ I think he kind of feels the safest hands are his own. And these are understandable concerns, but this is tough, because even reading the script, you think, ’I think I agree with Tony in a way, and I do agree that to make this work, you do need to surrender to the group.’ It can’t just be one person saying this is right and this is what we’re going to do."
According to Evans, "[Captain America] certainly has his reasons, and he is a good man and his moral compass is probably the cleanest. This is a tough thing. This is what made it so interesting while we were filming, and it’s hopefully what will make the movie great — nobody’s right, nobody’s wrong. There’s no clear bad guy here. We both have a point of view, which is akin to most disagreements in life and politics."
The 34 year old actor, who tweeted his gratitude to the multitude of fans who have supported him throughout his Captain America journey, also expressed his feelings towards playing Steve Rogers now, as opposed to when he first donned the costume.
"Now it's become something really special. Now that we've had a couple movies, it's been nothing but positivity," Evans said. "On 'Cap 2' or 'Avengers 2,' somewhere in there, you really start settling in and appreciating it and now it's just gravy."
Captain America: Civil War opens in theaters on May 6, 2016.
