A Windows 10 update will soon come to Xbox One in November, according to Microsoft.
During the Microsoft event Oct. 6, Terry Myerson, the executive VP of the company announced that all Xbox One systems will be upgraded to Windows 10. According to the report by Tech Crunch, the move will enable players to play Xbox 360 games on the Xbox One through its game streaming and Xbox Live Gold membership. However, Xbox 360 accessories and Kinect as well as games that use these accessories cannot be played through the Xbox One consoles due to incompatibility.
According to Major Nelson, the Xbox Beta App for Windows 10 will also feature party text chat that will only be available for Xbox Beta app members. It enables players to connect and voice chat with friends. Additionally, players can also read and reply messages directly from inline notifications while playing. There will also be real-time notifications for activities for friend requests, likes, shares, and comments. Sharing your activity is now easier with a "share" icon easily found on the top right corner of the activity feed. In this way, sharing game clips, screenshots, and game achievements is easier.
Furthermore, Tech Times reports that Microsoft is also upgrading the beta testing phase of the NXOE (New Xbox One Experience) as more Xbox Live members are given access to the new interface. The company also plans to integrate Cortana in the device as well. It is expected that the software will launch officially in 2016.
"As we've been doing for almost two years, we're sharing early builds with our fans, so that they can try out and provide input on new features," said Larry Hyrb, Xbox director of programming through MN. "We welcomed a limited group of preview members into an early peek at the reimagined Xbox One a few weeks ago. This weekend, we'll be inviting in more. If you've enrolled to receive the new Xbox One experience preview, keep an eye out for the build on your console. For fans already in the new Xbox One experience preview, thank you for all your feedback."
In addition, Microsoft also announced the Xbox One "Fallout 4" bundle, according to PC Mag. The bundle includes a 1 TB hard drive Xbox One console, one wireless controller with 3.5 mm headset jack, "Fallout 4" game disc, "Fallout 3" game download playable on Xbox One and a 14-day Xbox Live Gold trial.
