'American Idol' Season 15: Kanye West auditions together with wife Kim Kardashian

American Idol's 15th and final season won't go out without a blast, and auditions have closed with an exciting twist, thanks to reigning social media king and queen, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian.
E! Online reports that the pair were on hand in San Francisco, California to appear before judges Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick. West reportedly performed "Gold Digger", a song from his 2005 record, Late Registration.
West's appearance doesn't come as a surprise, as Ryan Seacrest, who has hosted American Idol since its inception in 2002, is the producer of E!'s Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
"Look who's going to Hollywood! #IdolAuditions #kanyewest," Seacrest posted on Instagram, as seen below.

West and his wife, Kardashian were in San Francisco for the Democratic National Committee fundraiser for President Barack Obama, where the rapper made an appearance as a headlining performer at the event. Kardashian came bearing gifts for the first family, as evidenced by her Instagram post showing two pairs of sneakers from West's Yeezy Boost 350 and 750 collections.
CNN reports that President Obama had some words of advice for West, who announced his plans of running for president in 2020. He joked, "A little bit later you're going to hear from a guy who I hear has been talking about launching a potential political career. You may have heard of this, Kanye is thinking about running for Speaker of the House. It couldn't get any stranger...But in case Kanye is serious about this whole POTUS thing—or as he calls it 'Peezy' [alluding to West's nickname, Yeezy] —I do have advice for him."
President Obama said that as chief executive, West will be "dealing with some strange characters who behave like they're on a reality TV show," referencing the Kardashian massive television empire. Obama said, "You've gotta be cool with that."
That TV empire has earned Seacrest a wealthy sum since its inception in 2007, with several spin-offs, and various endorsements that launched modeling careers, skin care lines, and clothing lines for the Kardashian-Jenner sisters. The five women, along with matriarch Kris Kardashian, are coincidentally on the cover of Cosmopolitan's November issue.
Huffington Post reports that Seacrest told the magazine, "No one could have predicted the Kardashians' and Jenners' success. But when you spend time with them, what resonates is the family unit. There are so many things about them that are glamorous, crazy and unlike our lives, but the sense of family is universal. They love and stand by one another no matter what."
