Jennifer Lawrence has risen above her Hollywood peers to be one of the most outspoken, brave feminists in the entertainment industry today. She recently penned an honest, provocative essay discussing the gender wage gap in Hollywood, slamming Hollywood bosses looking at actresses who demand for their right to be given a fair share as "spoiled brats." Her succinct essay, titled "Why Do I Make Less Than My Male Co-Stars?" was published in Lena Dunham's newsletter, Lenny.

"When the Sony hack happened and I found out how much less I was being paid than the lucky people with [penises], I didn’t get mad at Sony," Lawrence wrote. "I got mad at myself. I failed as a negotiator because I gave up early."

She also admitted that she somehow wanted to be liked, and therefore avoided any conflict that may arise from asking a higher price. The actress wrote, "I didn’t want to seem 'difficult' or 'spoiled.' At the time, that seemed like a fine idea, until I saw the payroll on the Internet and realized every man I was working with definitely didn’t worry about being “difficult” or 'spoiled.'"

Lawrence isn't the only one who has qualms about sexism in the industry. BBC reports that during the London Film Festival, Suffragette star and Oscar Award winning actress Geena Davis said, "We are unwittingly training generation after generation to see men and women as unequal. Surely in the 21st century we should be showing kids that boys and girls should be sharing the sandbox equally?"

Following Lawrence's essay, other Hollywood stars expressed their support, as Inquisitr reports that Emma Watson, Jessica Chastain, and Elizabeth Banks tweeted their messages to Lawrence.

Bradley Cooper, who worked with Lawrence for several movies, also expressed his thoughts on the issue. He told Entertainment Tonight, "There's a double standard in the whole world, yeah, for sure. This is just one aspect. Anytime there's a place where a voice can come out and be outspoken – something Sienna did, or Jennifer – that's great … I think it is making a difference."

Lawrence, whose career burgeoned thanks to not one but two franchises, X-Men and Hunger Games, continues to dominate on screen and off. In fact, the Wall Street Journal reports that the final trailer for Mockingjay — Part 2, which was released last week, quickly dominated conversations in the Twitterverse.

Analytics from ListenFirst showed that it topped the most recent and more detailed trailer for Disney Pixar's The Good Dinosaur, which also hits theaters this November. WSJ further reports that the two of the top five trailers on Twitter this year belong to the Mockingjay films. If this indicates anything, it's that the movie will probably reap in millions at the box office once more, when it debuts in theaters on Nov. 4.
