Following Lamar Odom's near-fatal drug use, Khloe Kardashian is still standing by her husband's side as he makes a recovery from his mishap. The 31-year-old reality star was absent from her sister Kim's birthday party, and instead was with Odom at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he was transferred upon waking up from a coma, New York Daily News reports.

The media outlet also reports that the 35-year-old athlete had undergone two emergency surgeries. The Odom family's spokesperson Alvina Alston, "To our overwhelming delight, Lamar’s courageous improvement continues on the incline in Los Angeles. He is beginning to gradually flourish both mentally and physically. His use of speech has increased and he’s more cognitively responsive."

E! Online reports that amidst the tragedy, the divorce between Kardashian and Odom has been called off. Despite both parties having signed the divorce, the couple are still legally married, as the judge had not yet signed off the papers. Kardashian's attorney Laura Wasser went on to request the judge to withdraw the divorce petition, which was granted.

Kardashian spoke to Complex about her marriage in August, saying, "When you genuinely feel like that was the right relationship, you’re supposed to give it all you can. That’s what marriage is about. It’s not, 'Let’s see if it works, if not we always have divorce.' I am not one of those girls. You took a vow before God and you’re supposed to abide by that."

Meanwhile, Kardashian is also gearing up for the release of her book, Strong Looks Better Naked. In the Simon & Schuster published memoir, Kardashian "shares her secrets for finding strength of body, mind, and heart with revelatory stories of her own struggles with weight, relationships, and her self-image."

Huffington Post reports that Kardashian writes about her relationship with Odom and admitted, "Before I met you, I felt invisible, and after I felt seen."

She also talks about relationships in general, writing, "The thing is, you can’t control other people, and you can’t control the outcome of situations, and if you think you can, you will soon discover that you are sadly mistaken."

On the book's cover, Kardashian is seen lounging naked and staring sultrily to the reader, showing off what she formerly called her "revenge body", which she confidently flaunted on the cover of several magazines, including Women's Health and Complex.

People reports that a quote at the back of her book reads, "There is no such thing as perfect. Nobody attains perfection. But if you keep working at it, you grow and evolve, and to me that's sort of the point."

Strong Looks Better Naked hits bookstores on Nov. 3.
