'Elder Scrolls 6' release date, gameplay, news & rumors: 3 things we know so far
- comments
As expected, Bethesda Softworks, the American video game publisher behind the hit RPG series "Elder Scrolls," is tight-lipped when it comes to giving out details on the upcoming game. But that won't keep us from scouring the web to get the latest scoop, and here are the few things we know so far.
Release Date
The much-awaited release of the sixth installment of Bethesda Softworks' "Elder Scrolls" series won't be until next year 2016, or possibly moved back as far as 2017. Sorry, Elder Scrolls fans!
There had been rumors to the delight of the game's followers that it will come out before the year ends. But all these turned out to be false. According to Neuro Gadget, Bethesda is currently keeping themselves fully occupied working on the final details of their highly-anticipated, multi-player game Fallout 4, which will be released soon on Nov. 10, 2015.
This will take their time away from the task of completing "Elder Scrolls 6," making the 2015 debut highly unlikely.
Gameplay
As Bethesda Softworks continue to keep themselves mum about ES6, what we only know so far with regard to gameplay is based on a lot rumors going around, and insinuating that the upcoming game will be named "Argonia." Master Herald pointed out that this could be an allusion to the possible setting of the game story.
It also noted the demand of some fans for the creator of the game to finally feature a cooperative multiplayer gameplay. There are also those who crave for something that would resemble an expansive online experience that you can usually get from playing massively multiplayer online game or MMO. Others would simply want Bethesda Softworks to address the issues when it comes to the game's combat mechanics.
Elder Scrolls Online Expansion
While fans of the ES6 were awaiting for its release, there have been a lot of positive response to "Elder Scrolls Online." Bethesda released the MMO's first major expansion, Imperial City, for PC and Mac back in early September, according to Gamespot. The game could come with an ESO Plus Membership or sold separately for $20.
"The Imperial City is special, not only because it's our first DLC, but because it's a huge milestone for us as a studio," creative director Rich Lambert said. We are now able to shift our focus from business model changes and console launch to creating new, meaningful content. It's the first of many new quarterly DLC game packs, and we couldn't be more thrilled."
