The newest premiere sedan from Audi is touted to lead the helm in German automobile manufacturer's A7 series. The 2016 Audi RS 7 is expected to give its rival competitors a run for their money, particularly the BMW's M6 Gran Coupe and the Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG.

The RS 7 will have the "Performance" package available with the RS 7 Sportback. It will provide more impressive numbers of 445kW of power and 700Nm of torque which will result to acceleration from zero to 100km/h in 3.7 seconds and a maximum speed of 305km/h. And what's even better is that the RS 7 can produce better numbers without an increase in the fuel consumption, maintaining the 9.5 liter usage for every 100km, as noted from an article of the The Motor Report.

Specs and Features

According to the Audi U.S. website, some of the key features that potential buyers can expect from RS 7 include full LED headlights, Valcona leather seats with contrast honeycomb stitching, three-spoke multifunction flat-bottom sport steering wheel with shift paddles, MMI® Navigation plus with voice control system, and, BOSE® Surround Sound System with 14 speakers, AudioPilot® noise compensation and 630 watts.

For its safety features, the RS 7 include a night vision assistant which makes use of infrared camera and thermal-imaging technology for low-light conditions, corner view camera system, a side assist to alert you when another vehicle pops out from your blind spot, active lane assist against drifting, and adaptive cruise control for safe distance.

Upgrade and Release Date

The typical supercharged V6 engine for the A7 series will be replaced by a 4-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which can also be found with Bentley's Continental GT and the Audi S8, in the RS 7.

The Audi engineers did some tinkering with the new RS 7's 4.0 TFSI engine, notes the Business Insider. With a modification on the exhaust valves and an optimized inner geometry of the turbo-chargers, they manage to come up with an output of 605 horsepower for the Sportback model, which is almost comparable to Corvette Z06's very own 650 horsepower.

As of yet, the automaker company has not announced an official release date for the RS 7 performance edition. But for those who would want to see the RS 7 up close, it will be showcased at the upcoming 2015 LA Auto Show, slated November 20 to 29. The manufacturer's suggested retail price or MSRP starts at $108,000 according to the Audi U.S site.
