The most anticipated open world survival game from Hello Games, "No Man's Sky" is scheduled to be released on June 2016 for PC and PlayStation 4.

"No Man's Sky" was first introduced at Sony's E3 2014 conference and the release date was confirmed during Sony's Paris Game Week, IGN reports.

In other news, it was rumored that "No Man's Sky" will be released during this week but it was ultimately denied by Sean Murray, the boss of Hello Games, via his Twitter account.

According to IGN, the rumor goes: "friends of VG247 are claiming PS4 owners could be in for a massive treat tomorrow, saying the game will release on PSN this week."

Murray tweeted the rumor directly stating that it is false.

Prior to the announcement of the game's release date, it was revealed that Murray admitted to almost announcing the official launch date of the game at E3 but decided against it.

"We really wanted to announce a release date. It's really hard to explain," Murray said via MCV. "We want the game to be out. If we thought it was good enough we would release it. If we thought it was finished we would release it."

"We were going to announce a release date. There are reasons why we began to realise that it might not be accurate for some reasons outside of our control and I don't want the pressure of that, to be honest. You actually create people being upset with you, for announcing a release date and then changing it. It's the worst thing, like saying Christmas is the 25th of December and then changing it," he explained.

Earlier this month, Murray was invited as a guest at the "Late Show" with host Stephen Colbert. During the segment, Murray played the demo of the game where he and Colbert went into a playful discussion about things relevant to the game including the scope of the game, the size of the team and more. Murray executed developer cheats and hopped from planet to planet and even going so far as naming objects in Colbert's name such as the "Molebert" or "Colbertausauras," Game Spot reports.

The Colbert also joked: "Do you have any worries that the game might get boring after visiting the first trillion planets?"
