Ming-Chi Kuo works as an analyst in one of Taiwan's oldest and largest financial firm, the KGI Securities. Unbeknownst to many, he is a well-known personality in a coterie of tech people who breathe and talk all things Apple. He has been dubbed as "the most accurate Apple analyst in the world," the "most reliable industry watcher on the planet" and "the most accurate Apple analyst in the world," according to CultofMac. And now the great oracle has once again spoken and made another prophecy about Apple's future—and we'd better be all ears.
Kuo predicts that the 2016 release of the iPhone 7 will come in three sizes with each one, specifically, catering to three different price tier. According to a report from Forbes, the latest leaked info coming from Kuo involves the production of an entry level iPhone that has a screen size of 4 inches, and unlike those from the C series, it will no longer sport a plastic body but will have an upgraded metal chassis.
The two other sizes will come in the form of the 4.7-inch iPhone 7 and the more premium variant called iPhone 7 Plus with a screen size of 5.5 inches. The latter is expected to be an upgrade of the former not just in terms of size but in terms of performance—and hopefully, in the battery life department.
The 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus is expected to be more powerful and have 50 percent more RAM. Kuo expects it to pack 3 GB of Ram as compared to 2 GB of the 4.7-inch iPhone 7. The new models are also predicted to run on Apple's new generation of processor architecture, which could be referred to as the A10, according to Apple Insider.
In terms of dimension, Kuo has also predicted earlier that the iPhone 7 could have a thickness of somewhere between 6.0 and 6.5 millimeters. The 2016 device can be as thin as the Apple's latest iPod touch and iPad Air 2, which are both just 6.1 millimeters thick. The iPhone 6, on the other hand, has a thickness of 6.9 millimeters.
The iPhone 7 devices could have a release date sometime during the second half of 2016, probably in September, which is a typical period for an Apple launch.
Meanwhile, Kuo also believed that because there is still a demand for the smaller sized Apple phones, a new 4-inch iPhone is also in store for the Apple fans. This minuscule version will be the budget phone model and will come with a metal chassis and A9 processor. The release date is expected to coincide with that of the iPhone 7.
