The last time we saw Glenn (Steven Yeun) on "The Walking Dead," he was atop a dumpster with Nicholas (Michael Traynor), seemingly trapped in a sea of zombies. Nicholas, who went into a trance of hopelessness, whipped out his gun, told Glenn "thank you," and went on to take his own life. Nicholas' lifeless body, alongside Glenn's very alive and startled one, fell off the dumpster and into the hungry, grappling hands of the walkers, implying that Glenn may have died, too. For those who want to relive that, click play below.

While fans are still reeling over Glenn's horrific fate, some are speculating that he may be still alive. In fact, Vanity Fair reports that Ross Marquand, who plays Aaron in the series, believes that Glenn may still be alive, even though Yeun's name is no longer in the opening credits of the series.

"I think, as a fan, I think there’s just not enough evidence to rule out that he’s completely dead," Marquand told Vanity Fair.

"The way it’s shot is so brilliant. The way they edited that together was incredible," the 34-year-old actor said. "I need to see more. I’m of the mindset, like you, you don’t know until you totally know. They do play their cards very close to their chest on the show."

He also points out one important thing in that scene: "When Nicholas is shooting at the walkers, there’s a few clicks, signifying that he’s out of bullets. So how could he possibly have shot himself in the head if he’s run out of bullets? The theory is that it’s all a dream sequence, and it’s a really fascinating theory."

Meanwhile, of all the characters to first receive the news, it was Marquand's Aaron who first found out that Glenn's wife, Maggie (Lauren Cohan) is expecting a baby. Cohan spoke to Entertainment Weekly to talk about the developments in the life of her character, specifically Glenn's death and her expecting a baby.

"It’s just such an interesting topic, and I overwhelmingly feel like with the loss the life that there is a responsibility to create life," Cohan said.

"I know there are opinions on every side of the camp about being pregnant in a time like this, but I just find it really exciting," the 33-year-old actress mused. "Even within the craziness now, I think it’s correct that this is the next step on that journey for those two."

However, with Glenn being "gone", Cohan says that Maggie is "the most challenged we’ve seen her. She’s letting herself break a bit."

The actress also points out that her character may be resigned to not knowing what comes next for herself and the people she cares about. She said, "I think that’s the realization that it’s not accepting that he’s gone; it’s saying that I have to live with the uncertainty of it, but it’s still innocent until proven otherwise... I can speak as [Maggie], and it’s a refusal to let it be true."

The Walking Dead airs on Sundays at 9/8c on AMC.
