Comic book and film fans may be passionate for the art, and when it comes to fan theories, their creativity may astound viewers and audiences the world over. In fact, a peculiar Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice fan theory claims that Christian Bale of The Dark Knight trilogy is coming back to reprise his role as Bruce Wayne himself, contrary to reports (and the official trailer showing) that Ben Affleck is Batman, Comic Book reports.

In an interview with ET, Bale finally spoke out about the fan theory of his return as Batman, saying, "I haven’t heard that. This is the first I’ve heard of it."

"I think it’s pretty clear that Ben [Affleck] is playing Batman now," the 41 year old actor said. When asked if he may make an appearance in the film in any way, he said, "No, it’s not happening."

Bale also spoke with E! Online, saying that he isn't thinking too much about the new film that is set to hit theaters come March 2016.

"I'm not thinking anything. I'm sort of totally oblivious to it," Bale admitted. "I'm happy to have to done it and I'm happy to see what someone else does with it."

Affleck is the latest in the slew of actors who have already played the masked hero, including 87 year old Adam West ("Batman", 1966), 64 year old Michael Keaton (Tim Burton's "Batman", 1989), 55 year old Val Kilmer ("Batman Forever", 1995) and 54-year-old George Clooney ("Batman & Robin", 1997).

Daily Rover reports that back in July, Affleck shared to the San Diego Comic-Con that he ran into Bale while costume shopping with his son, Samuel.

"My son is really into Batman, wisely," the 43-year-old father of three said. "We went to a store, a costume store in Los Angeles. It was pretty empty and I was in the aisle and I heard this 'Oi!'"

"I turned around, and it’s Christian Bale, who is the sweetest guy in the world," Affleck said. "And there he and I are, standing in the Batman costume row and I said, ‘Look man, you’re the best. Like, what do you think? Do you have any tips?'"

Affleck shared that Bale's advise was, "'Make sure you can piss in that suit.'"

Meanwhile, Collider reports that Atlas Entertainment President and producer Charles Roven recently shared his thoughts on the upcoming film and how he built the DC cinematic universe upon a new faces to the superheroes people have grown to love.

"One of the things that we’re doing when we’re bringing together the DC Justice League Universe is we’re creating not only stories that work for the individual film but they have some resonance to the other films that we’re doing," Roven said. "And I’m hoping that what’s also gonna keep the interest very keen is we’re telling hopefully compelling stories."

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens in theaters on March 25, 2016.
