Fans are still holding their breath to see if Steven Yeun's Glenn Rhee is making a comeback to the beloved TV series but were given a nice treat in the form of a Daryl Dixon-centric episode. In fact, Entertainment Weekly spoke to Norman Reedus to talk about the stellar season so far and how it has viewers staying on the edge of their seats episode after episode, and rather unfortunately, it might not have been Glenn on the other end of the walkie-talkie at the episode's closing.
"I will say that voice is not Glenn," Reedus confirms to EW. "It’s not Glenn. But it’s probably somebody at Alexandria with all we know that’s happening there."
The 46-year-old actor also admitted to feeling emotional over the death of Glenn, saying, "He’s such a beloved character and such a good friend of mine...I was still pissed off at the end of the episode. I was in shock, and I was there! So I felt it too."
"You’re supposed to feel the pain. That’s the idea," he said. "I turned that episode off when it was done and kind of walked around my room and was cursing at the floor. I was kind of in shock."
Meanwhile, Movie Web reports that the new clip AMC released for the next episode features Andrew Lincoln's Rick scrutinizing the wall that protects them from the horrors of the outside world and finds a tiny hole, from which, interestingly, blood begins to trickle. Whether this is a metaphor for the wall being "wounded" or a sign that the wall will come down as the season progresses is yet to be disclosed as more episodes air.
Speaking of more episodes, Reedus told IGN that the last episode launched an arc that will carry on to the upcoming episodes of the show.
"From here on in, it's like we just jump off of a mountain top it's so fast and thrilling," he said. What's more is that Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been cast to play Negan, a terrifying antagonist who is dead set on wreaking havoc in Alexandria.
"I can say that I've known Jeffrey for 15 years. He has his own style, his own flavor, and he's such a talented actor and has his own personality that whatever he does he brings to and he hits it out of the park," he said of Morgan. "Knowing Jeffrey, he fits perfectly, and I think that he will knock this role right out of the park."
"The Walking Dead" airs on Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC.
