The top 24 become top 12 in the latest episode of "The Voice" season 9. Some got into the next round through the people's votes while some were saved by the judges. Team Gwen and Team Adam performed on Monday night while Team Blake and Team Pharrell performed on Tuesday night.
The show started off with Team Gwen's Braiden Sunshine who sang "Renegade" by Styx on Monday, Hollywood Life reports. The 15-year-old rocked the performance that Gwen had very nice things to say to him: "I just feel really proud of you that you were brave to come out here and find your way, find who you are. I'm really proud of you. I love having you on my team."
Next was Team Adam's Amy Vachal who made Drake's "Hotline Bling" into her own that it got praises from other coaches. Vachal's former coach, Pharell, gave the stunning brunette some tips backstage. Vachal sang the stage off with a jazzy rendition of the song.
Team Pharell's Mark Hood sang a Phil Collins classic, "Against All Odds," according to Billboard. His rendition captivated both the audience and coaches as Gwen said: "What I love about you is you're so full of heart and spirit and it just comes out of you like that."
Next was Blake's Emily Ann Roberts who sang her version of "Blame It On Your Heart" by Patty Loveless. Her coach was so proud that the he said: "You're treating this like it's your stage, and it is every time you get on it, so congratulations buddy!"
Korin Bukowski from Team Gwen was up next and performed "Titanium." According to Billboard, the song was "a very strong song choice for her." In addition to being in the top 12, Bukowski also got blonde locks.
Barrett Barber was next and sang his own version of "Right Here Waiting" by Richard Marx. Blake praised his own coachee for his impressive vocals.
Team Pharrell's Madi Davis sang Jewel's "Who Will Save Your Soul" and the judges were impressed by her improvement.
Jeffery Austin from Team Gwen then sang James Bay's "Let It Go" and although it didn't sound any different from the original, the coaches still praised his vocals.
Next up was Team Adam's Shelby Brown who sang "In Color" by Jamey Johnson. Brown made some technical mistakes but was still praised for her ability to handle it with grace.
Evan McKeel sang "This is It" by Kenny Loggins. His coach, Pharrell called for America to vote for him because of his performance.
Jordan Smith of Team Adam sang "Great Is They Faithfulness" and he garnered standing ovation from four coaches for his amazing performance.
The night ended with Team Blake's Zach Seabaugh who sang "My Love" which showed off his vocal range. He got praised by Pharrell saying that he is a "natural."
When asked who the contestants' biggest contender might be, most of them said that it was Jordan Smith as he delivered great and consistent performances throughout the season, E! Online reports.
