Adele has a new album and look. The 27-year-old singer attributes her figure to exercise and vegetarian diet.

Although she has not revealed how much weight she has lost so far, Celebrity Health Fitness speculates that the British recording artist has lost at least 50 pounds over the last few years.

Hollywood Take says Adele made the decision to follow a healthier lifestyle in 2011. It was Simon Konecki, Adele's fiancé, who suggested that the crooner try the vegetarian diet.

She says she has not felt this great in years. "I'm trying to be veggie," Adele told interviewers at Britain's Radio 1.

"I have to be really healthy and stuff like that. I can find another way of getting all the stuff out of meat you need."

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone Magazine, Adele revealed some of her other tricks for getting thinner.

For one, the music artist says she has stopped smoking and only drinks once a week. After giving birth to Angelo in 2012, she revealed that she had to be more careful about what she was doing to her body and in front of her son.

"They just know. They pick up on it and just go for you."

According to the music publication, the songwriter is also trying to build up stamina in case she needs to do a road tour for her next album. She is eating less sugar but does not deprive herself of carbohydrates.

The singer is also trying to exercise more by jogging with her husband and dog. Trips to the gym are not a walk in the park but Adele says she does enjoy lifting weights.

Adele emphasized during the interview that she was losing weight to get healthy and "not to be a size zero or anything like that."

For her, being a plus size celebrity does have its perks. Adele believes that her size and body image issues have made her more relatable to people.

During a recent interview on Sirius XM Adele said, "I do have body image problems, for sure, but I don't let them rule my life at all. And there's bigger issues going on in the world than how I feel about myself and stuff like that."

Although her newfound lifestyle is doing wonders for her, Adele admits that not everything about it is appealing.

"I hate that tofu stuff, though. It's rank."
