The release of the highly-anticipated Apple iPad Pro did not go as smooth sailing as the tech giant would have wanted. The major pothole come in the form of a dead screen after the device is re-charged for battery power.
One of the iPad Pro owners posted in the Apple Support website about issue where the device shuts off while charging and requires a hard reset before it turns on once again.
"At night it was down to 40% so I charged it and went to bed. When I woke up it was "dead". It wouldn't wake up. I needed to perform a hard reset to get it to come to life. Worked on it for a couple of hours and had to run an errand. Plugged it back in as I was going to need a full charge later that day. Came back to it, same thing. Dead. I needed to perform a hard reset to get it to turn on," the user who goes by the name darkfire.shadows wrote.
"Used it more, then last night plugged it in and this morning, same thing. I am thinking that there is an issue with this iPad," he continued. The post has since received more than 380 replies as of this writing.
Meanwhile, Apple has already acknowledged that there is problem with its new tablet. It posted a message on its website for those customers with this iPad pro issue where the device stops responding and the screen is black.
The company wanted to give the users a heads up on what to do if the iPad Pro doesn't respond when you press buttons or tap on the screen. It recommended a force restart to get back to using the new iPad. The users can do this by pressing and holding both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until they see the Apple logo.
Apple has also taken the opportunity to assure the new owners of iPad Pro that the company is aware of this issue and already doing an investigation.
The 12.9-inch iPad Pro still makes use of Retina display with 5.6 million pixels, making it the highest resolution Retina display among iOS devices. It runs the new third‑generation A9X chip with 64‑bit desktop‑class architecture, which delivers nearly double the CPU performance of iPad Air 2, according to Apple.
The new device went on sale Wednesday, November 11 and it starts at $799 for the entry-level 32GB Wi-Fi only model, MacRumors wrote. The 128GB Wi-Fi only model is available for $949, and a 128GB Wi-Fi + Cellular model is available for $1,079.
