During the charity screening of his movie "In the Heart of The Sea" in Australia last week, Chris Hemsworth looked healthier and looked like he was back into shape.

The 32-year-old actor shared a picture of his weight loss on Twitter with him looking less like the Thunder god we're used to seeing. In the picture, Hemsworth has grown a full beard, his hair matte and unkempt with patches of his skin covered in dirt.

"Just tried a new diet/training program called "Lost At Sea"," the actor wrote. "Wouldn't recommend it.. #IntheHeartoftheSea,"

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, it was revealed that Hemsworth and his other costars only consumed 500 calories a day to play their roles as shipwrecked sailors in the 19th century drama. However, before Hemsworth began slimming down for the role, he was already considered underweight for Thor when he was shooting for Michael Mann's film "Black Hat."

"When I started, I was leaner than my Thor weight, anyway, because I'd been on Michael's film," the actor told EW. "When you're already starting off lean, it's brutal to chew through that kind of weight. Every pound feels like a kilogram."

"In the Heart of The Sea" is based off on Nathaniel Philbrick's 2000 non-fiction book of the same name. According to Bustle, it is a true story which inspired the book "Moby Dick" by Herman Melville. The movie is an adventure drama starring Hemsworth as first mate Owen Chase. He is joined by Benjamin Walker who plays Captain George Pollard, Jr., and other actors Cillian Murphy and Tom Holland as their crew mates.

To make themselves look more convincing as shipwrecked sailors, the cast were committed to looking emaciated that they felt like "supermodels" talking about their weight.

"We kind of went insane, weighing ourselves every day," Hemsworth said. "We all felt like a bunch of supermodels, trying to get down in weight for a show, or something. That's all we spoke about. You've got 15 burly blokes on the sea and all we talked about was our diet, and who'd lost more weight, and who's looking really skinny. It's ridiculous!"

"In the Heart of the Sea" is coming to theaters on Dec. 11, 2015.
