One of this year's X Factor frontrunners Louisa Johnson has been picked by many to come out on top of the competition with her powerful voice that have captured the judges' attention. But, just last year, the 17-year-old teenager from Thurrock, Essex, also had to beat out a serious enemy that put her health to risk.

She shared her weight loss issues with Fabulous magazine and revealed that just several months ago her weight really plummeted to the point where she was unrecognizable, according to a report from Mirror. She blamed the poor eating habit brought about by what she said is a really tough time in her young age.

"This time last year was one of the hardest times of my life. I was really low. I wasn't easting properly [so] I got really, really skinny. I was about 7 stone and I had no shape," she explained. "You wouldn't even recognize me."

She also told Fabulous magazine that her weight really suffered because of all the stress she had during her time at school. She said that she felt like she did not fit in. This was during the time that Louisa was attending sixth form college and studying business.

Johnson felt that taking up business is just not the right thing for her as it felt like she was not in the right place. This caused her to get stressed out and, eventually, led to her losing a lot of body weight.

"I never belonged there. It wasn't the people. I just didn't want to be told what to do or who to be - I've known who I want to be my whole life," she said.

Thankfully, the X Factor star realized that her dream is really to be a singer. This was the time when she decided to attend a performing arts school and pursue her love for music. Consequently, she also found a healthier lifestyle with it.

The teenager finally quit her course and enrolled at a performing arts college, where she instantly felt more at ease. "I went running all the time and started eating properly and everything was cool. I'm here and I'm happy," she said.

And now, things are looking up for the teen as she is already hotly tipped as this year's winner in the singing competition, according to the Daily Mail. Although Rita Ora is her mentor, she also got the support from Cheryl Fernandez-Versini despite being in a rival category.
