It has been two years since the Michael Schumacher's near-fatal skiing accident. According to recent reports, his condition has become worse.
On Autoweek, Former Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo described the seven-time world champion's state as "terrible."
"He is an extraordinary person, who even in the most difficult moments was an absolute team player. To see him in this situation is terrible."
"I must also say that I admire the courage and strength of his family, of Corinna and the children, and how they help Michael. From the bottom of my heart, I hope to hear good news soon," Montezemolo continued to say.
In a report on Yibada, the Ferrari president indicated that he did not want to delve into Schumacher's present condition. Instead, he wishes to focus more on their happy moments.
Although Schumacher's family has not revealed any details regarding the driver's condition, Federation Internationale de I'Automobile president Jean Todt continues to visit the former F1 driver at this home in Lausanne.
"Michael is still fighting, and we must keep fighting with the family."
Schumacher's contribution to Ferrari cannot be understated, according to Montezemolo. It was the 46-year-old German race car driver who recommended to the company that they train Sebastian Vettel, based on Vettel's runs at Toro Rosso.
During the recently concluded Race of Champions, Vettel dedicated his win to his mentor. Planet F1 says the two Germans had been dominating the sport for years.
The driver told interviewers, "It is a shame that he cannot be here with us now - it's difficult for us all."
Michael Schumacher's son, Mick, is also currently following his father's footsteps. Earlier this year, Fox Sports says the 16-year-old made his debut in Formula 4.
More recently, the younger Schumacher had been testing his skills on the European F3 team Prema Powerteam, an Italian team connected to Ferrari.
Rumors have circulated that Mercedes is eyeing this possible up-and-coming star racer. Grand Prix says the young Schumacher has been invited by the rival racing car team to its 'Stars and Cars' event.
Reports indicate that the car company may be supporting Van Amersfoort next year, the same team Mick Schumacher debuted in for the single seater races.
However, a spokesman from the Mercedes group made it clear that it was not signing up the 16-year-old by saying, "Mick and Mercedes are not working together. Stars and Cars is not the first step of a future co-operation."
