Thanksgiving is, definitely, the season to be happy about a lot of things in life. But that, of course, does not include those unwanted calories from all the tasty meals we indulge ourselves into during the holidays. And, after all those pampering of our tummies, we should also make time to burn those fats away. So, here are 5 ways to rid yourself of that remorse-inducing Thanksgiving calories.

Join a local race

You might want to consider getting yourself signed up for a fun run or other races you can find. And, if you cannot find one that is near your place, why not try running around your neighborhood. You can even ask a friend to join you in your endeavor. There are probably a lot of other people on the same page as you in terms of your goal. Just 60 minutes of jogging, you can burn about 477 calories or about one slice of pecan pie, according to CNN.

Try Zumba dancing

For a more fun and exciting fat-burning activity, you can also try Zumba dancing. Again, you can invite friends and family to join you in a group, which makes it all the more fun. But, if you do not want others to get a peek at your not-so-admirable dance skills, try doing it in your room. There a lot of videos online to guide you. An hour of Zumba can help burn more than 500 calories.

Throw it out of the water

You can also try to go swimming, according to Fitday, to help you burn more calories. A casual swimming, for instance, can help a 155-pound person burn about 450 calories. But if you are feeling more vigorous, you can do more intense strokes like butterfly where the person of the same weight can burn at least 800 calories in one hour.

Laughter is the best fat buster

KKCB.com advises laughing out the fat out of your body. You can engage in a funny conversation while you are eating and spending time with your family and loved ones. According to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, laughing for 10 to 15 minutes a day can help you burn up to 40 calories.

Do fun or productive stuff at home

For those who are not into intense workouts, CNN also recommends doing some domestic chores or just doing some fun stuff like hanging out or playing with the kids. You can also choose to help out in clearing the table or washing the dishes. This could burn at least 100 calories.
