Deadpool is a supervillain-turned-superhero who is the brainchild of writer Fabian Nicieza and another fellow writer and artist Rob Liefeld. He was the result of another scientific experiment gone wrong, which left him disfigured and also resulted to his superhuman abilities.
"Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional antihero, 'Deadpool' tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool," wrote Fox Movies on their website.
"Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life."
The comical and talkative character of Deadpool will be played by Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds who is also known for his starring roles in films such as "R.I.P.D.," Definitely, Maybe" and "The Proposal." He also holds the distinction of portraying two superhero characters; one from DC Comics and one from Marvel Comics. In 2011, he played the character of Hal Jordan a.k.a. Green Lantern.
The upcoming movie will be under the direction of Tim Miller while "Zombieland" writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick took care of the script. "Deadpool" is scheduled for release on Feb. 12, 2016, and confirmed to have an "R" rating, according to ComingSoon.net.
Apart from Reynolds, the "Deadpool" cast also includes T.J. Miller as Weasel, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle a.k.a. Copycat and Ed Skrein as Ajax.
As shown in the trailer, the film will also feature the mutant Colossus, although, Daniel Cudmore has admitted that he will not appear as the character. There is also rumors that the wolverine, who is played by Hugh Jackman, might make an appearance in the film. There is no confirmation yet regarding that one.
