"Rocket League" players will have a merry Christmas this year, as Gamespot reports that officially-licensed Portal items are coming to the game on PC and PS4 this December. "Rocket League" developer Psyonix announced via the Steam Community that "our good friends at Valve Software, have donated the likeness of their timeless classic, Portal, to Rocket League starting Dec. 1."

"In an amazing display of professional badassery, the fantastic folks at Valve Software have given Rocket League players one of the coolest things they'll ever see in our game—officially-licensed Portal customization items that are absolutely FREE!" Psyonix wrote. According to the game developer, the official Portal items will be obtainable by playing a full game of "Rocket League." The official Portal items will then be rewarded at the end of every match, regardless if the player wins or loses. Gamers must also keep playing until the match ends to get a chance to earn a new Aperture-themed treat.

Psyonix reveals that there will be nine new Aperture-themed goodies coming for free this Dec. 1, listed below.

  • Cake (Topper)
  • Conversion Gel (Rocket Trail)
  • Propulsion Gel (Rocket Trail)
  • Repulsion Gel (Rocket Trail)
  • Aperture Laboratories (Antenna)
  • Cake Sticker (Antenna)
  • Companion Cube (Antenna)
  • Personality Core (Antenna)
  • PotatOS (Antenna)

According to IGN, "Rocket League" is also welcoming the Chaos Run DLC featuring two new cars, an arena, and customization items this December for just $4. Gamers can also expect a free hockey-inspired mode come Dec. 14. Playstation Lifestyle reports that the Mutator Mode, Snow Day will replace the Mutator Mashup online playlist, while Snow Day will feature an iced-over field and a new heavy, disc-shaped hockey puck.

As part of the Winter Games, gamers can get seven new free holiday-themed Garage items as part of the games' seasonal item collection. These items include “Xmas” Rocket Trail, “Blitzen” Topper, “Christmas Tree” Topper, “Sad Sapling” Topper, “Santa” Topper, “Candy Cane” Antenna, and “Holiday Gift” Antenna.

According to Psyonix, "Just like those found in the seasonal Halloween update, these Winter Games post-match drops are limited-time goodies… Though the chances of getting Winter Games items are lower than that of a standard drop, players have a chance to find one following the completion of any match, win or lose, and will permanently keep the item once found. Fail to collect all holiday items before Monday, Jan. 4, however, and you’ll have to wait until next year to find them again."
