- comments
The launch of the Adobe Premiere Clip video editor on Google Play heralds the company's focus on making more apps for Android.
The video editor first debuted on iOS last year. Through the Adobe editing app, users can make clips and adjust them to their preference and even put music over them as well. It is easy to use that even the most novices of editors can use it with ease.
According to The Verge, the Premiere Clip can easily integrate other existing Adobe Apps. You can get photos via Adobe Capture and lets you put together videos with music, custom colors, and more. The app is free on Android devices, but a Creative Cloud subscription is needed to sync across devices. You can also continue editing clips via the desktop version of the Premiere Clip, there is a fee for the desktop version, but you can use more advanced tools.
"Premiere Clip is a free video editor that makes it fast and fun to create quality videos that can be easily shared - or easily opened in Adobe Premiere Pro CC for extra polish," Adobe wrote on the Google Play app page.
It is 45MB in size and the current version 1.0.999 requires Android 4.4 up to the latest. Since its launch, there already been hundreds of downloads.
It has been met with varying reviews, with some users welcoming it and some users who are opposed to using it.
Some people find creating an account or logging in a hassle while some people find the features lacking, some like the app designs.
Here are some user reviews from the Play Store page:
"Create an account!!!??? This is exactly why I don't use your products," said an Octavius S, who gave the app a very low rating of one-star. "Now maybe I'd do it if I could use my Google but nope sure can't... So,... Fail."
"I liked the way it synchronised to the music. It made a bunch of pictures feel like they had a point. Being able to add text post edit would be great to have," said William Phoenix who gave the app four stars. "Also being able to share to more than Adobe and Youtube seems like it's very much needed. All in all, for free, this is a must-have on any good smartphone."
According to Tech Times, there isn't anything new in the Android version that makes it better than the iOS version. However, it makes Adobe's presence more visible for Android users. The Premiere Clip editor gives Android more app choices when it comes to mobile video editing.
