'Mortal Kombat X' characters, teaser video, release date, news & update: DLC Kombat Pack part 2 to be revealed at The Game Awards 2015 [VIDEO]

"Mortal Kombat" creator Ed Boon has tweeted about the content that gets to be revealed on Thursday. According to GameSpot.

Boon's use of "Who's next" is a reference to how gamemaker NetherRealm Studios announce upcoming characters. Judging by rumors and old favorites, it would be possible for Spawn to be in the game, according to Tech Times. Older characters such as Cyrax or Noob Saibot might be included as well.

"Mortal Kombat X" was originally released on April 7 this year.The first DLC Kombat Pack included classic favorites such as Tremor, who can control the earth, Tanya the Edenian warrior, Jason Vorhees and Predator, Cinema Blend reports.

There are 4 DLC packs that will be released individually. Along with the character DLCs, there are also skins for existing characters. The Ultimate Pack with Vorhees includes Vampiress Mileena, Pharaoh Ermac and Kraken Reptile. The Klassic Pack #1 with Tanya includes skins for Liu Kang, Sonya and Kano. The Predator/Prey Pack includes themed skins such as Infrared Scorpion, Carl Weathers as Jax and Commando Johnny. The Klassic Pack #2 with Tremor includes skins for Jax, Kung Lao and Quan Chi.

The Kombat Pack DLC is $29.99 and is bundled with the "Mortal Kombat X Collector's Editions."

Meanwhile, Geoff Keighley, who is the producer of The Game Awards show, also teased fans with a teaser video entitled "Mortal Kombat X Exclusive Announcement at The Game Awards 2015."


The Game Awards will be on air at 6 p.m. PST / 9 p.m. EST on Dec. 3, Thursday. The awards show will be streamed live via YouTube. It will be held in Los Angeles at the Microsoft Theater.

According to Gematsu, there will be 10 world premieres that will debut during the event. The confirmed premieres include new footage from "Quantum Break," and a gameplay for "Far Cry Primal."

The Game Awards 2015 will be attended by Hollywood stars including Kiefer Sutherland, Mark Hamill and Shaquille O'Neal, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Keighley says that the invited Hollywood guests may be checkered, but they all love video games.

"We look for talent that are truly invested and interested in the space," the producer said. "Either they play or their kids play or their significant other plays. They are people that want to come and pay respects to this industry."

The independent gaming awards are also sponsored and supported by big names in the industry including Electronic Arts, Activision Blizzard, and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Most of the people who tune into the show anticipate the game announcements, but they also look forward to the music and awards.
