No one is immune to heckling, even the Asgardian god of thunder. That's the lesson "Thor: Ragnarok" and "In the Heart of the Sea" star Chris Hemsworth learned during a visit to the prison. Entertainment Weekly reports that the 32-year-old actor recently took a trip to a prison to do research for a film, during which he was sporting longer hair, as he did when he filmed the "Thor" and "Avengers" films.

"We had to go in and basically see what the inside of a prison looks like, speak with prisoners who were willing to talk to us," Hemsworth told the host during his visit to "The Graham Norton Show". The actor said he hid his locks underneath a cap, which he was told to remove.

"The warden said ‘You can’t wear your hat,’ and so on, and I said, ‘OK no worries.’ And I thought, ‘Oh s–t, they’re going to know who I am,’" Hemsworth recalled. "Then I thought, ‘No, they don’t get Thor in here, they’re not going to watch movies,’ and, I don’t know, I’d never been to prison. So, I assumed that."

The Asgardian Avenger thought wrong, because "The moment I started walking through the cells … I just start getting heckled," he admitted.

"It’s like, ‘Yo yo, Thor’s here, man. …Thor! Where’s your hammer man?’ And I’m trying to blend in, doing ‘research,’ and I’m just getting heckled left and right," he said. "‘Come spend some time in my cell, baby!’"

No one would blame the prisoners as the hunky actor looks totally ripped in his recent Instagram video of himself, which showed him skateboarding.

Speaking of ripped, Hemsworth recently opened up about having to physically change to play the role of a starving shipwreck survivor in the film "In the Heart of the Sea", which opens in theaters on Dec. 11. The actor had to lose weight, from his muscular build of 215 to just 175 lbs.

Just tried a new diet/training program called "Lost At Sea". Wouldn't recommend it.. #IntheHeartoftheSea @zocothebodypro A photo posted by Chris Hemsworth (@chrishemsworth) on Nov 22, 2015 at 1:56pm PST

"This was physically and emotionally the hardest movie that I've been a part of," the actor admitted in an interview with New York Daily News. "Losing the weight to this length, I just never want to do it again, but it had such an emotional effect on us."

"In some small way, we felt like we were doing what these men went through justice," Hemsworth said. "In the Heart of the Sea" follows the story of a whaling ship crew whose ship gets split into two after a bull sperm whale rams into it.

The screenplay was written by Charles Leavitt and Hemsworth first brought it to renowned director Ron Howard. The actor admitted that despite being proud of what they collectively accomplished in the film, he'll be more careful in selecting films to audition for.

"I read scripts now," the father of three said. "And if there's any mention of being skinny, I'm like, 'Nope!'"
