Mama June weight loss tips & tricks: Honey Boo Boo's mom shares how she lost 120-lb

Mama June Shannon from the defunct TLC reality TV series "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" has been sporting her slimmer figure lately, thanks largely to her diet and more active lifestyle. She recently shared her weight loss secrets with In Touch Weekly where she proudly revealed that she went from size 28 down to just a size 16.

She told In Touch, "I went from like a [size] 28 to a 16 - and these pants are a little too big!" The 35-year-old grandmom also credited the show for helping her in her journey to losing weight.

"Honestly, when I first started losing weight, it was just being more active, being busy with the show and doing more things with 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,'" she said.

Shannon also shared that she asked for the help of celebrity trainer Natasha Fett from whom she got some good advice when it comes to diet and working out.

"I met with this trainer through my manager... Even though she's 3,000 miles away, she's still very supportive through everything. I'm just walking through the neighborhood three miles a day, and just keeping up with that and just keeping up with the kids and just kind of being on the go all the time," she added.

Meanwhile, according to Examiner.com, speculations swirled around that Mama June underwent bariatric surgery or used diet pills following her 120-lb weight loss in 2013. The former reality TV mom denied this and said that it was all because of her cutting back on sugary sodas and doughnuts, eating chicken, baked foods and cheese cubes.

TLC's "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" is an American reality TV show which starred Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson, the daughter of Mama June. Honey Boo Boo is a contestant in a child beauty pageant and the show centered on the everyday adventures of her and her family.

The show premiered back on Aug. 8, 2012, but was canceled by TLC on October 2014 following reports that Mama June was involved with a child molester who was convicted of sexually abusing an eight-year-old child. The child turned out to be Anna Cardwell who is the eldest daughter of Mama June.

Mama June recently talked about the show's cancellation and the return of The Duggar Family's show in TLC after it was also cancelled because of another scandal.

"TLC does some crazy stuff. Jill and Jessa are going back on TV. Don't tell me the Duggars aren't going to be a part of that. They are working the Duggars back on TV in their own secret way," she told Radar Online in an interview.

"TLC took everything from us. They took so much away from the girls. Their bodyguards. They made them leave. The Duggars had security for weeks after they were canceled."
