Some Mario fans at Mercedes-Benz were so inspired by the GLA car's cameo appearance in "Mario Kart 8" they decided to build an entire level with Mario behind the wheels of a GLA going on some road trip.
The Mercedes-Benz team, which is one of Nintendo's partners, developed "Jump'n'Drive," an original Event Course for the "Super Mario Maker" Nintendo Wii U edition, where players can unlock a special costume that shows Mario in the driver's seat after completing the level. This costume can be unlocked at no additional charge and players can include this as part of their collection of Mystery Mushroom costumes, according to Nintendo.
This special level course allows the gamers to be in control as they try to navigate their way into a variety of automotive-related areas, including being at the dealership, taking a test drive through a city and eventually cruising down the autobahn. There are also some surprises waiting to be discovered just like in any good Mario level.
The Mercedes-Benz "Jump'n'Drive" level can be found in the "Event Courses" section of the game and the DLC comes available for free for those who already own the "Super Mario Maker."
"'Super Mario Maker' continues to grow and evolve with new courses and content," said Scott Moffitt, Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Nintendo of America. "It's great that a luxury car brand like Mercedes-Benz recognizes the ability to create fun courses and share them with others."
This was not the first time Nintendo and the automaker company has forged some partnership of sorts. Mercedes-Benz has already done similar contribution when it allowed the GLA to be one of the multiple free downloadable vehicles in "Mario Kart 8," PC Mag reported.
"We are delighted to once again be represented in a blockbuster game like 'Super Mario Maker,'" said Dr. Jens Thiemer, Vice President Marketing Mercedes-Benz cars. "Mercedes-Benz and 'Super Mario' have a lot in common. Above all, they share the same vision: to inspire their customers and fans."
As for its gameplay, "Super Mario Maker" allows gamers to play thousands of level and even create their own one. These created levels can be easy or difficult depending on the players, according to GazetteReview. The "Super Mario Maker" amiibo features, meanwhile, allow players to transform into different character costumes with the new Mystery Mushroom item.
