Twenty-nine-year-old singer/songwriter and now actress Lady Gaga has another feather in her cap now that the list of Golden Globe nominees for have been released. TODAY reports that Lady Gaga has been nominated in the "Best Actress in a TV Miniseries or Movie" for her work in FX's "American Horror Story: Hotel." The artist is up against Kirsten Dunst for FX's "Fargo," Sarah Hay for STARZ's "Flesh & Bone," Felicity Huffman for ABC's "American Crime," and Queen Latifah for HBO's "Bessie."
Entertainment Weekly reports that Gaga was overwhelmed with joy and excitement upon finding out that she was nominated, as she tweeted, "I apologize to my neighbors I’m still screaming in my apt in NY!"
"I’m nominated as an actress for a Golden Globe what a dream is this real!" Gaga, who played Countess Elizabeth on the Ryan Murphy created series tweeted.
I apologize to my neighbors I'm still screaming in my apt in NY! I'm nominated as an actress for a Golden Globe what a dream is this real!

The six-time Grammy Award winning artist also thanked the Hollywood Foreign Press Association and the cast and crew of "American Horror Story. She said, "I am too excited for words at this recognition for my work! I dreamed endlessly of being in television & film. This is a real honor for a waitress/singer/actress from New York!"
Born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta in Manhattan, New York, she rose to fame in 2008 after releasing a record called "The Fame," which included her hits "Just Dance" and "Poker Face," for which she won the "Best Dance Record" at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, and was nominated "Song of the Year" and "Record of the Year", while "The Fame" was nominated for "Album of the Year" and "Best Dance/Electronica Album". Among Gaga's Grammy Awards are "Best Pop Vocal Album" for "The Fame Monster," "Best Female Pop Vocal Performance" and "Best Short Form Music Video" for "Bad Romance" in 2011.
In an interview with ET Online in September, "American Horror Story" creator Ryan Murphy had praises for Gaga.
"I have to say, she's one of the great professional joys in my life," Murphy admitted. "She has been such a team player, the cast and crew are obsessed with her. Her performance is amazing. She's a great actress."
Variety reports that according to Gaga, it was important for her to be taken seriously as an actress, and not just a singer-turned-actress.
"It’s always been so important to me that if I were to ever to make a move in television or as an actress that it would never feel like a move and nobody would ever go, ‘Oh, here she is trying to become an actress and put out a clothing line and a record label’," she explained. "You know, that’s sort of the thing that everyone expects, right? That it’s time for my empire. I don’t give a f—k about that. It is completely unfulfilling to me. It does nothing for my soul. What I did want was to be taken seriously as an actress."
It seems that her work has paid off, given the Golden Globe nod. "American Hotel Story" has been renewed for its sixth season, and Murphy is already campaigning to get Gaga back to the Hotel. This remains to be seen, and fans can meanwhile wait for the Golden Globe Awards, which will be held on Jan. 10, 2016.
