Microsoft is asking its fans through a vote to pick the next casual Windows game that they will be making next.

The company's Microsoft Casual Games division has asked fans what kind of games they should do next. Fans can vote on five choices: Microsoft Casino Collection, Microsoft Chess, Microsoft Ultimate Word Games, Microsoft Hearts or Microsoft Bubble. Fans can vote over at aka.ms/casualvote and the division will take votes and tally. The poll is still on and it will end on Dec. 17 this year.The winner of the tally will be made into a game for casual gamers.

The division's design director Kevin Lambert and lead producer Derek Dutilly are excited about the outcome of the votes.

"I'm completely excited to see what directions the community will take us and the influence they'll have on our products," said Dutilly in a blog posted on Windows.

The post adds that Microsoft has made casual games for more than 20 years and the Microsoft Casual Games team has continued to make casual games for PC's and smartphones. They added that it is the first time that they will be taking the direction and choices of their future game from the community.

"Now, for the first time in history, Microsoft Casual Games is collaborating with our fans on product and development choices," the post said. "We're not just allowing the community to read about what's going on, but we are actually involving the community to vote on which games we should make next and provide feedback on how to improve the overall game features."

The five top choices were games that people have requested of the team over the years. The team has emphasized that the game they will be doing will be coming from the choice with the most votes.

"Even though we love playing our games just as much as we love working on them, ultimately, we aren't making these games for ourselves. We make them to entertain and delight our players, and therefore, what our players want (and don't want) is paramount for us to understand and embrace," the two wrote. "The earlier in the development process we can pinpoint what our players want and don't want, the higher chance we have to exceed their expectations."
