In November, the world was witness to UFC champion Ronda Rousey's first ever loss to contender Holly Holm at the Etihad Stadium, Melbourne, Australia. The 34-year-old Holm knocked out Rousey to grab the latter's UFC Bantamweight Champion title.

Just one month later, Rousey graces the cover of ESPN The Magazine, where she opens up about her fight with Holm and how she feels now that she's on the road to recovery from her first ever loss.

"I’m just really f—ing sad," the 28-year-old athlete admitted, according to TIME. "I’ve turned off my phone. I haven’t looked at it. I’ve just been having long conversations with Mochi [her 7-year-old Argentinian Mastiff]."

Rousey also admitted that "I just feel so embarrassed. How I fought after that is such an embarrassing representation of myself. I wasn’t even f—ing there."

Nonetheless, Rousey is determined to beat Holm in the rematch, which takes place on July 9 in Las Vegas, according to E! Online. Rousey said, "I need to come back. I need to beat this chick."

"I always say you have to be willing to get your heart broken. That’s just what f—ing happens when you try," Rousey, who is determined to crush Holm when they meet again in the octagon, admitted.

Meanwhile, ESPN reports that Holm doesn't wait that long before meeting Rousey again in the ring. She said, "Eight months is a long time between fights, and I don't want to wait that long. But if that's what it is, I'll do it and I'll be ready."

Holm also said that she already expects a more aggressive Rousey on their next fight, telling ESPN, "I think she might try a little harder [to take the fight to the ground]. I do expect a completely different fight."

"Nothing ever happens the same, and she'll be coming twice as aggressive," Holm explained. "She's going to come back with a vengeance. I know that, and I just have to be ready."

UFC's Dana White told The Los Angeles Times, "Ronda is the fiercest competitor I have ever met in my life and she’s also very proud. What made the world love Ronda is that Ronda absolutely 100% knew she was not going to lose. … People rallied around this powerful female figure."

Rousey is indeed known for her unapologetic, straightforward nature, and according to People, she admitted, "Most people get scared away from having an opinion. It's not so much my opinions everybody relates to, it's that I don't care about being punished for it."

Rousey and Holm are set to meet in the octagon once more on July 9, 2016. Meanwhile, fans can pick up Rousey's issue of ESPN The Magazine, which hits newsstands on Friday.
