The wait for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is almost over, as the highly anticipated film hits theaters this Friday. But before crowds go into a frenzy with the mindblowing experience of watching the new movie, fans and viewers are highly encouraged to keep in mind their movie-going etiquette, that is, to keep the spoilers to themselves as not to ruin it for other fans who will see it at a later time or date.
The Verge reports that a Reddit user wrote a quick PSA about Disney telling their staff that an employee screening won't be possible for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens", which puts them right alongside regular people who will see the film for the first time on Friday. Here's what Reddit user hypedwookie13 had to say:
Disney sent us an email stating that we can't do an employee screening for The Force Awakens, and that if we show the movie before 7 p.m. on the 17th, they will pull the movie entirely. Please remember that most workers are fans of Star Wars and can't wait to see it either, but may not have yet had the chance. Don't spoil it! Not only that, but there will be a ton of people waiting in line outside the exits. Let's be courteous!
Speaking of courteous Variety reports that Han Solo himself made a special appearance during an Australian fan event for the film, which showed fans 10 minutes of new footage from the film. He mostly went unnoticed until he rose from his seat and the spotlight was placed on him.
"Let’s make a deal – don’t tell your friends what you’ve seen here today," Ford told the audience.
Meanwhile, J.J. Abrams was also tight-lipped when he spoke to USA Today, saying that the film will have a "different opening" than the previous films but will definitely tie into the history of the "Star Wars" cinematic world.
"Part of the story of this movie is history repeats itself, and part of it is who is going to tell your history and what do people know about what has come before," Abrams explained.
Ford also told USA Today that in this film, "We reveal that [Han Solo] has gone through in his life, which brings us a character who has aspects that he didn’t have 30 years ago, much like you and I. We’re not necessarily any smarter, but we know more."
He adds that "The history they’ve developed for the character has got some real important emotional realities to it, and they aid in the telling of the story in a way that makes his contribution to the story significant."
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" brings new faces, including John Boyega, Lupita Nyong'o, Adam Driver, and Oscar Isaac.
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens" opens this Friday, Dec. 18.
