It has been months since a trailer for “Kingdom Hearts 3” was released and, for sure, fans have been waiting for a game update. Good news is that, yesterday, there was a promise that a trailer will be released today.
Attack of The Fanboy reported that the official "Kingdom Hearts" Twitter page posted that a new trailer for both “Kingdom Hearts 3” and “Kingdom Hearts 2.8” will be released today, adding that it will be an early Christmas gift.

The good thing is, they did not disappoint. The trailer video is already here!
Gamespot reported that the trailer, which featured both games, was released during the Jump Festa event in Japan. Although it was good that there is a new trailer, apparently there was no new information revealed regarding the games, save for a few.
Game Rant said that the new trailer is somewhat identical to what was shown in D23 last November. Those who are not familiar with what was shown during the D23 will do well to watch the new trailer, as it gives some detail regarding both games.
The video is a 5-minute teaser to what will be included in both titles. “Kingdom Hearts 2.8” is featured from 0:01 up to 3:37, while “Kingdom Hearts 3” is shown at 3:38 up to the end.
The “Kingdom Hearts 2.8” feature shows some gameplay; as well as story footage that gives players the idea of a traitor among the midst of characters, as well as sparking curiosity as to what happened to Aqua while he is in the Realm of Darkness.
A “shotlock” feature from Birth by Sleep was also featured. It allows players to target enemies by aiming with a target reticule on-screen and then jumping from enemy to enemy to attack.
As for “Kingdom Hearts 3,” fans are probably disappointed due to the fact that nothing new is presented in the short amount of time allotted for it. Featured, however, are battles shown in worlds found in “Tangled” and “Hercules.” A new “shooting ride” attack based on Buzz Lightyear has also been featured.
AoTF speculated that, since the trailer is released at the same time “Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens” is, it could be possible that Square Enix has included some “Star Wars” content in the game. It could be plain coincidence or could be possible since the game is still in development.
“Kingdom Hearts 2.8” is slated for release sometime in 2016 for the PlayStation 4 only. “Kingdom Hearts 3,” on the other hand, still has no confirmed release date yet, but will be released for the Xbox One and PS4.
