Miss Philippines Wins Miss Universe 2015 but Host Announced Miss Colombia; see Epic Mistake Here!

It was one shocking Miss Universe competition this year as host Steve Harvey mistakenly announced and crowned Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez as this year's Miss Universe, News Limited reports. The real winner, as seen in the results envelope, was Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.
Social media immediately erupted with various reactions, from jubilation to extreme excitement and confusion. To correct his mistake, Harvey showed the results card to the camera, which showed Miss USA as second runner-up, and Miss Colombia as first runner-up.

Heavy reports that Harvey took to Twitter to apologize for the mistake, but the tweet was also deleted.

Philnews reports that when asked about the U.S. military base in the country, Miss Philippines answered, "I think that the U.S. and the PH have a good relationship with each other. We’ve been colonized by the Americans and we have their culture. [The] Philippines is very welcoming with the Americans and I don’t see any problem with that at all."
Inquirer further reports that when asked why she should be crowned Miss Universe, the Philippine contender answered, "To be a Miss Universe is both an honor and a responsibility. If I were to be Miss Universe, I will use my voice to influence the youth and I will raise awareness to certain causes like HIV awareness that is timely and relevant to my country, which is the Philippines."
"I want to show the world, the universe, rather, that I am confidently beautiful with a heart," she concluded.
The 26-year-old Wurtzbach is half Filipino and half German, and hails from Cagayan de Oro. She told Inquirer, "Since the first time I set foot in the Philippine pageantry, I’ve always been transparent with my thoughts, with my training and with what I’m doing with my life."
"I don’t think there’s anything that I’ve kept from the public eye," she admitted. "I’ve been very open with my journey, and I think that’s what makes me relatable to so many people—because they see my journey from start to finish."
