Windows 10 Mobile Release Date: Update Delayed to Early 2016 -- Here's Why
- comments
It is not a secret that Windows fans do not experience the same luxury as the Android and iOS fans are experiencing. Considering that Microsoft is consistently labeled as the distant third place in the operating system market and is offering fewer apps than its rivals, it is no doubt that being a Microsoft fanatic is a tough job. Now, they have to suffer from another disappointment as the promised and long-waited release of Microsoft 10 mobile upgrade is delayed.
Microsoft fans and users were all waiting for December to come to get the Microsoft 10 Mobile upgrade roll-out started. It turns out that they all waited in vain as there won't be any upgrade roll-out happening this month. So, when will Microsoft make the Microsoft 10 Mobile upgrade happen? It is in the early 2016.
According to The Verge, Microsoft announced that the beginning of Windows 10 Mobile upgrade roll-out to selected Windows 8 and 8.1 phones will be early next year. They have already introduced it with the brand new Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL. The updated Windows operating system offers enticing features, including Continuum and Universal Windows Apps. Nonetheless, no matter how great these new features are, these account to nothing if the Windows users can't get to experience them.
The worst part about the delay of this roll-out is that it is not certain as to when this "early next year" is. It could be in any month - January, February or March - in the first quarter. Not being sure as to when a Windows user can welcome a brand new update is more than disappointing than knowing its release or roll-out has been delayed.
Windows 10 for PC has been released in July 2015. Fans were patient and open-minded enough not to mind the five month gap of the Windows 10 for PC's release date and the Windows 10 Mobile roll-out's promised date. However, now, they have to keep waiting for another one, two or three months. That would make the gap to six, seven or eight months.
Venture Beat reported that it makes sense that Microsoft will release Windows 10 for PC first since they have bigger and more solid market for the PC market. Nevertheless, too much time gap is quite unreasonable. They could have just started a roll-out to even at least two phones just to avoid calling it as a delay.
Another bad news for Windows users, it has not yet been identified as to what mobile phones will be given the Microsoft 10 Mobile upgrades, the Information Week reported.
