The Clinton family has yet another reason to celebrate this holiday season and the coming year, as presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's daughter, Chelsea, announced her pregnancy, CNN reports.
The 35-year-old is the only child of former President Bill Clinton, and his wife, Hillary, who is now one of the frontrunners for the presidency next year. Chelsea previously worked for NBC News as a correspondent, and according to the Washington Post, she also worked at Avenue Capital Group, a New York hedge fund, and at McKinsey as a consultant. She later moved on to become a board member of the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation, a non-profit organization whose programs aim to "have a significant impact in a wide range of issue areas, including economic development, climate change, health and wellness, and participation of girls and women."
Chelsea Clinton married investment banker Marc Mezvinsky in 2010, and in September 2014, they welcomed their first child, Charlotte. Clinton took to Twitter to share the good news of her pregnancy, writing, "Next summer, Charlotte is going to be a big sister! Feeling very blessed & grateful this holiday season."

Clinton and Mezvinsky also released a joint statement via Facebook, writing, "Next summer, Charlotte is going to be a big sister! We are feeling particularly blessed and grateful this holiday season. Being Charlotte's parents has been the most joyous, meaningful and loving experience of our lives and we are very excited about growing our family in the new year."
Amidst her busy presidential campaign schedule, Hillary Clinton tweeted her excitement about the upcoming addition to their family. She tweeted, "Your dad and I could not be happier for you, Marc, and Charlotte. We’re so excited to meet our second grandchild! -H"
People reports that former President Bill Clinton also tweeted, "Your dad and I could not be happier for you, Marc and Charlotte. We’re so excited to meet our second grandchild!"
E! Online reports that Chelsea recently spoke praises of her mother during her visit to Ellen DeGeneres' show, saying, "I didn't know that I could love and admire and respect my mom anymore until I became a mom and couldn't believe anymore in her as the right leader for the country I want my daughter to grow up in."
"But I do because she has been working to ensure that every woman should get the chance to grow up to be you or to grow up and be the next Hillary Clinton," the expectant mother said.
While Clinton often mentions her grandchild during her campaign appearances, she does not bring her out for privacy reasons. Chelsea, however, has previously helped her mother campaign back in 2008, appearing in college campuses. The Washington Post reported in 2008 that Chelsea had made over 100 public appearances in behalf of Hillary Clinton for her campaign trail.
