'30 Rock' Parody: Sarah Palin Mocks Tina Fey in Spoof —Watch Here!
- comments
Sarah Palin got her revenge on Tina Fey after years of the former impersonating her in the popular TV show "Saturday Night Live." In a 60-second sketch of "31 Rock," Palin plays the role of Lynn Melon, the spoof equivalent of Fey's Liz Lemon in the show "30 Rock" where she is "a small-town TV writer who moves to NYC in hopes of creating a hit variety show," reports Daily Mail. In doing the parody, Palin was assisted by her friends Sen. Lindsey Grahan and former running mate, John McCain.
The spoof was for a new video at the Independent Journal Review.
Watch the fake trailer below:
"She's a TV writer who left a small town for the big city," says a narrator as we see Palin trying to imitate Lemon's mannerisms and complaining about Big Gulps and why her Starbucks cup has no snowflakes in it.
"She's also putting the smackdown on political correctness," the narrator continued. Kevin Brown then appears and scolds Melon about the book club.
"We reviewed Sarah Palin's new book, 'Sweet Freedom: A Devotional.' Which, politics aside, is a great reminder of the pressures of PC culture," said Brown.
"The only PC I need is right here," said Palin, referring to her laptop.
Sen. Graham appears and plays the role of Kenneth Parcell while Sen. McCain plays the "31 Rock" version of Jack Donaghy, a close friend of Lemon.
"Tune in when 31 Rock begins this winter on Independent Journal...maybe," the narrator concludes.
The video comes in an opportune time when Tina Fey and fellow comedian Amy Poehler go back to host last weekend's "Saturday Night Live" episode.
The two reprise their impressions of Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton during the Dec. 19 episode.
In lieu of the Democratic debate that was scheduled on the same weekend, Darrell Hammond revives his Donald Trump impersonation while Beck Bennett takes on his impersonation of Jeb Bush, according to The Daily Beast.
Jay Pharaoh was also there with his impression of a sleepy Ben Carson. Watch the GOP Debate parody below:
Of the hilarious skits and sketches made during last Saturday, here are others:
2.) A Hillary Christmas
It's a Hillary Clinton meets Hillary Clinton sketch featuring Poehler and Kate McKinnon's versions. Watch the hilarious sketch below:
3.) Dope Squad
This is a slight poke to Taylor Swift's squad that reigned in 2015. However, Poehler and Fey's squad is dope as the nanny and gynecologists are part of their squad. Watch the parody as Aidy Bryant and Amy Schumer rap in the sketch:
