Khloe Kardashian has been flaunting a new physique on social media, and the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star is now revealing how she achieved it. In an interview with New Beauty, the reality star discloses how eliminating a type of food group have caused her to drastically lose weight.
According to the news outlet, Khloe went on a "radical" diet. With the help of a nutritionist, she has discovered that saying goodbye to dairy products leads to losing weight. However, it was not easy for the blonde beauty as she told the publication that dairy, such as cheese and milk, was one of her favorites.
“I’m obsessed with cheese and milk, but eliminating them from my diet (I did it gradually) made the biggest difference," Khloe revealed. The reality star, who was formerly with NBA star Lamar Odom, further said that she has made an exception when it comes to two particular food, pizza and ice cream, as these are some of her most favorite things to eat.
By exchanging her food to dairy-free alternatives, Khloe revealed that in just one and a half month, she has shed off 11 pounds "without doing anything else different."
According to Dr. Mark Hyman, director at Cleveland Clinic Center for Functional Medicine, there are a number of negative effects from eating dairy products. He said that dairy may be unhealthy because different from common belief, there is no evidence that dairy is good for the bones or prevents osteoporosis. Hyman points out that it may actually cause bone loss because of the animal protein found in it.
Dairy also has high saturated fat content and can cause digestive problems because not everyone can stomach it. Apart from these, Diet Doctor also notes that dairy products contain milk sugar or lactose and generate an insulin response, which slows down weight loss.
In another New Beauty article, Khloe shared how dairy-free alternatives are as good as her favorite dairy products. "I always thought that almond milk would be disgusting. I never even tried it, but I was adamant that I would hate it. I learned a lot about dairy and what it does to your system and I cut it out. Then I tried almond milk and found that I loved it," she said.
Just like her sister Kourtney, who Latinos Health previously reported to have lost a whopping 45 pounds, Khloe also likes to work out as it does not only trims down her body but also makes her emotionally better. Khloe said that she now has a newfound confidence because of her new physique, "I dress differently now because I feel comfortable in my skin. Now, I feel I’m living my life more."
