'The Winds of Winter' Release Date: Book Delayed, Set to Arrive During Middle of 'Game of Thrones' Season 6 [Rumors]

There is no doubt that many fans are looking forward to the release date of the sixth book of "The Song of Ice and Fire." "Game of Thrones" season 6 is already scheduled to return in the small screens, but no reports about the release date of "The Winds of Winter" are announced.

George RR Martin, the brain behind the popular book series, told Entertainment Weekly that finishing "The Winds of Winter" before "Game of Thrones" season six is important to him. "I wish it was out now. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic about how quickly I can finish. But I canceled two convention appearances, I'm turning down a lot more interviews-anything I can do to clear my decks and get this done," he said.

There are speculations that the book will unlikely be out before "GoT" season 6 premieres. If rumors are true, "The Winds of Winter" will see the light of day in the middle of the TV show's upcoming season, per VineReport.

Latinos Health previously reported that the editor of the book is confident that "The Winds of Winter" will be released in 2016. Alejo Cuervo, an editor from Ediciones Gigamesh, revealed the release date in an interview.

"It is expected next year," Cuervo said about the sixth book. He was asked by the host to confirm the release date and he said: "Well, let's see, confident...but a meteor could fall."

Although Martin skipped several commitments to finish "The Winds of Winter," he also made several excuses for delaying the book's release date, Independent reported.

The New Mexican author revealed that the book and the show are so popular that he has to do constant interviews. Moreover, he received many travel plans and invitations, among these is a trip to South Africa which he seemed to love. "Who's passing up a free trip to Dubai?" said the celebrity author.

Aside from the tempting invitations, Martin also disclosed the struggle of being a writer. "I don't [write] that rigidly. I go over in the morning and sit down; I usually reread what I've done the day before to try to build up a little momentum. Sometimes if what I wrote the day before is not very good I spend the whole day rewriting what I did the day before."

For those wishing the Martin would work on "The Winds of Winter" nonstop, you will be disappointed. The 67-year-old author disclosed that he does not write when he travels.

So, whenever Martin is out, the book is on hold. He has assistants that make sure people are not bothering him so he can get the job done because everyone is now bothering him to finish the anticipated book.
