"World of Tanks" fans would be glad to know that Wargaming announced the second open beta for its PlayStation 4 version on Jan. 8 to 10, High Def Digest reports. The game is available for download at the moment, so gamers can check out the tank before the beta goes live.

Gamezone reports that players who join the beta can expect to gear up on the battlefield and command some of history's most epic and battle-tested tank arsenals from the United States, Germany, and the Soviet Union. Gamers who join the beta can also acquire two Open Beta exclusives in the form of the T1E6-PS with a stylish blue camouflage and the chrome M22 Locust-PS, featuring a special color scheme that honors the original PlayStation.

According to Wargaming, "World of Tanks features five distinct vehicle classes. Each one plays a unique yet vital role on the battlefield, and an expert tank commander will understand and master each class by learning all their important differences. To succeed in battle, it's necessary to appreciate the ways in which these machines operate." The strategic team-based shooter game offers Light Tanks, Medium Tanks, Heavy Tanks, Tank Destroyers, and Artillery for an exhilarating game. It also features clans, which are ongoing military unions. Players can opt to create their own clan or search for an existing clan.

"World of Tanks" was also released for Xbox in July 2015, and as per Wargaming, "For years, World of Tanks has been the go-to game for epic battles featuring historically accurate armored vehicles. Climb into a multi-ton behemoth equipped with a powerful cannon and do battle alongside and against tankers from all over the world. World of Tanks on Xbox was built from the ground up for consoles to offer explosive encounters and strategic showdowns."

"World of Tanks" launched for Xbox in July 2015, and according to Wargaming's founder, Victor Kislyi, who spoke to VentureBeat, the game is doing well on Xbox. If this is any indication, it will most likely witness the same success on PlayStation.

"World of Tanks Xbox is doing great for the 360," Kislyi told VentureBeat. "The amount of people who can play is limited by the number of global Xbox Live subscriptions, which is 18 million or 20 million or something like that."

"In the beginning, World of Tanks was a more historically accurate simulation," he explained. "Today, we understand that those millions of people want to have fun. This is our everyday life today."
