The recently concluded People's Choice Awards was a great but controversial night for Dakota Johnson. The "Fifty Shades Darker" star received an award but, when she went up stage, her dress almost gave in.

Yahoo! Style reported that the 26-year-old star "survived what could have been a very embarrassing fashion crisis on stage." The popular actress is no stranger to taking off her clothes but, on the said event, she had no plans of showing off any private parts of her body.

Johnson won the Favorite Dramatic Movie Actress award. As she went on stage to accept the award, the "How to Be Single" actress Leslie Mann welcomed her with a big hug. Unfortunately, the latter accidentally unzipped the former's top while they hugged that nearly resulted to a wardrobe malfunction. Fortunately, Alison Brie was there to rescue Johnson. Also, during the incident, Mann assured her, "It's okay. We got it."

The scene caught everyone's attention but Johnson regained her poise immediately and even joked about it, CBS News reported. "Leslie broke my dress," she said. "Okay, well, it's not like nobody here hasn't already seen my boobs."

The actress went on with her speech and thank her fans and co-star. Many were impressed with how Johnson handled the matter so professionally. She transitioned from that awkward moment effortlessly.

Aside from Johnson, the other big events or winners during the People's Choice Awards were Vin Diesel and "Fast and Furious 7." The seventh installment of the popular street racing franchise bested "Avengers: Age of Ultron," "Inside Out," "Pitch Perfect 2" and "Jurassic World" for the Favorite Movie category.

"Fast and Furious 7" also bagged the Favorite Action Movie category, beating the "Avengers: Age of Ultron" and "Jurassic World" twice. "The Divergent Series: Insurgent" and "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" were also nominated in the said category.

When Diesel received the two trophies for "Fast and Furious 7," the actor got teary-eyed and remember his late co-star Paul Walker, per USA Today. "When I hear that you voted for this film ... I start to think of Paul," Diesel said. "My only message to you is you'd be amazed what you can do with love. You'd be amazed at how powerful a force that is. When we didn't want to come back to filming when the tragedy was too heavy, it was the love of everyone combined that saw us through to the end."

Diesel's speech became a tribute to Walker as he sang a few lines of the popular "Furious 7" ending song "See You Again." "It’s been a long day without you my friend," he sang. "And I’ll tell you all about it when I see you again." Diesel always remembers Walker every time their film is recognized.
