A new gameplay video for the Kombat Pack 2 is coming the way of "Mortal Kombat X" fans. And, no less than NetherRealm Studios' creative director Ed Boon made the announcement via his Twitter account on Jan. 8, 2016.
The new trailer for the second DLC pack will available sometime next week, according to the post. So far, Boon has been holding out on other information, such as the exact date or what specific details the fans can expect from the official trailer that will be out a few days from now.
Nonetheless, it seems like gamers were really excited about the announcement as the tweet now has more than 1,300 retweets and has been liked by close to 2,300 times.

"The Kombat Pack 2 will include Leatherface, Xenomorph, Bo Rai Cho, and Tri-Borg. The expansion is pegged to launch this year, though a release date has not been announced. Previously released Mortal Kombat X DLC characters have included Jason Voorhees, Predator, Tanya, and Tremor," wrote Game Spot.
NetherRealm Studios decided to pick a couple of characters from two Hollywood thrillers and another pair from the Mortal Kombat universe to add excitement to the game and in the hope of increasing the sales for the title.
Bo Rai Cho is a famous trainer, a drunken master at that, in "Mortal Kombat," while, Tri-Borg who also comes from the MK universe is a cross between the characters of Cyrax, Sektor and Cyborg Smoke. Xenomorph, on the one hand, comes from the "Aliens" movie franchise, while Leatherface comes from "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre."
But, whether a lot of gamers will be willing to shell out $30 for the new set of characters remains to be seen. And, people could be hoping for a better deal to have access for the four characters, says Cinema Blend.
Boon told IGN back in December of 2015 that the creators thought of including new characters based on movies, such as The Terminator and Michael Myers from the "Halloween" franchise. The pair of characters did not make it to the video game for some reasons.
"We've tossed around a whole bunch of names, like The Terminator, or something like that. For various reasons - whether it wasn't a match, or we just couldn't come to terms with it - they didn't happen," explained Boon. "We talked about that at one point but it just never kind of panned out."
